Whilst it is not madatory to wear a face covering during the services you may prefer to continue to wear one if you wish.

On entering and exiting the building please do not congregrate in the foyer or immediately outside the front door of the church. Remember that we have to maintain a two metre seperation from people outside our ‘bubble’.

Grace Free Presbyterian is situated on the outskirts of the busy market town of Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland.
We are just off the busy main dual carraigeway that runs between Newtownards and Bangor. Newtownards, known colloquially by locals as "Ards", is a large town which lies at the most northern tip of Strangford Lough, 10 miles (16 km) east of Belfast, on the Ards Peninsula.
We are a multi-generational congregation, served by a team, under the leadership of our Interim Moderator Rev. John Woods. Grace FPC has a rich history stretching back to 1977.
Sunday Services
We would love to welcome you to our services on a Sunday (11:30am and 7pm). Our morning services last for about an hour, following the familiar patterns of Reformed worship (prayer, praise, Scripture reading, preaching, and communion on the first Sunday of each month).

The Gospel in four three-word sentences.
The Message from the Tree - John 19 v 30 “It is finished”
One of the seven sayings of our Saviour on the cross, just one word in the Greek language – “tetelestai”. The battles of antiquity concluded with the victor proclaiming triumph with a loud shout as the battlefield was vacated. At Calvary the serpent’s head was bruised, the law satisfied, the wrath of God appeased, the cup of damnation for God’s people drained and then our Lord shouted in victory. This was not the shout of one vanquished in death but the cry of resounding conquest, a message echoing down the centuries to every generation. The debt is paid in full and the work of redemption finished, the penitent cannot add to the work of the cross – it is finished.
The Message from the Tomb - Mark 16 v 6 “He is risen”
After the darkness, upheaval and drama of the crucifixion there follows a solemn contrast to the frenetic activity surrounding Calvary. A momentous event occurs silently and unseen in the seclusion of the garden cemetery. Without fanfare or cheering multitudes or angelic adoration the Saviour majestically steps forth unheralded from the tomb, the firstfruits from the dead. He does not reveal Himself to the state authorities or religious hierarchy but instead greets his own with the gracious words “All hail”, “Peace be unto you”. After resurrection wicked hands never touch our Saviour. Picture the Lord God in that garden in the cool of the day meeting his loved ones.
The Message from the Table - I Corinthians 11 v 26 “Till he come”
At the institution of the supper in the upper room the Lord said, “this do in remembrance of me”. The Saviour was soon to leave the earthly scene but left a memorial of his death. A token of his love lest we forget that he was wounded for our transgressions. We are to show forth the Lord’s death till he come – a comfort for the believer that this same Jesus will so come in like manner as he went. The clouds are a reminder of his return, as we look up and see them, or are surrounded by the dark clouds of trial or uncertainty let us remember that our redemption draweth nigh.
The Message from the Throne - Revelation 5 v 9 “Thou art worthy”
Heaven is a place of continual singing and the Saviour the theme of its songs. The attention of the assembled multitude focuses on the throne, their object of worship is the Lamb of God. Before there ever was sinner, there was a Saviour for he is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. The redeemed rebels are now made kings and priests and shall reign upon the earth. Every kindred, tongue, people and nation are represented and the number of them is ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands of thousands. Blessing and honour and glory and power are ascribed to the Lamb that sitteth upon the throne; of His kingdom there shall be no end – He is worthy.
What marvellous grace that such a God who is independent of all, needing nothing outside of himself, should condescend to take our place in death and gift His people everlasting life.
